Release 'Not That Remarkable'. [3-31-06] RAVENNA, OH- Dan Hopkins, second-shift supervisor for Movie Gallery, states the unveiling of "Dreamer" in the New Release section 'not that remarkable'. "We had a lot of fanfare over the release of Jarhead, the New Harry Potter, and Good Night & Good Luck, but it seems 'Dreamer' has kind of flown under the radar of our customers," said Hopkins. "That, or they know it's there but just don't want to rent it."
"This one guy brought it up once, and after I read him the title, he said 'damn, I'm sorry, I thought that was Seabiscuit.' This has actually happened on several occasions, and on each occurance, the customer takes the movie back to the shelf in embarrassment," stated Hopkins. "My employees all get a chance to watch any of the new movies for free... none of them really cared to view this one." Hopkins was asked if he had personally viewed the movie, to which he simply laughed and stated 'no'. "My kid wanted to see that movie," a Movie Gallery customer told us. "Well, we had previously let her watch The Horse Whisperer like 100 times, and I just wasn't up for this one. We convinced her to rent Beyond Narnia instead." -EM |
